Rules

REGULATIONS:

 

  • Athletes must be at least 18 years of age and of a sufficient athletic level. With their registration they confirm this.
  • The Crew must necessarily consist of at least two members who have a valid driving license.
  • The submission of the waiver and the acceptance of the Covid 19 prevention is mandatory.
  • We require correct and truthful entries in the registration documents!
  • Accompanying the athlete on the run course is allowed
  • Accompanying the athlete on the bike course by car and bicycle is allowed if the car is behind the cyclist
  • The slipstream box of 12 metres applies, riding side by side is not permitted.
  • The Athlete is racing under own responsibilities and on the run and bike recording to the traffic rules


1. SWIMMING

  • There will be 19 triangle laps of 1000m. The laps will be counted manualy.
  • Refreshments during the swim will be available at the start/finish of the swim part (every lap).
  • The wearing of a neoprene is allowed but not compulsory. Other aids such as fins, snorkels or paddles are not allowed.
  • A maximum of one crew member is allowed in the transition area and at the start of the swim.
  • Athlet has to change is the wardrobe that is only 20 meters from transition area.
  • Athlete has to wear swimming cap so that referee can see its number and count laps.
  • The transition area will be closed after the last competitor will leave on the biking course. From that point forward accompanying crew is responsible fort he equipment in the transition area.
  • In relay athletes can change anytime they like, but it is mandatory that every member of the team swim at least one kilometer.
  • Time limit for the swim is 10 hours.


2. CYCLING

  • Cyclist who is leaving the transition area has to walk to the line that will be determine by the race regulations. From that point forward he or she can sit on the bike and start cycling.
  • Cyclist has to wait with cycling until the accompanying vehicle is behind him.
  • The Athletes have to ride according to the Road Traffic Regulations (traffic lights, conjuctions, stop signs,…) 
  • The marshals will be on the road at all times.
  • Throwing away bike bottles or food is prohibitet
  • The course is to be viewed online in advance and marked with signs during the competition.
  • Each athlete (team) is responsible for knowing the course and orientation.
  • It is MANDATORY that the vehicle that is behind cyclist has rotation lights (signals that something is going on). It is RECOMENDED that vehicle ha salso speakers for communication with competitor.
  • During the night lighting is mandatory (front and back light)
  • It is recommended that reflective clothing be worn and/or reflective strips be placed on the bike and equipment during the night hours.
  • The wearing of a crash helmet is mandatory at all times when the bike is used by the rider.
  • The race number must be worn on the back and must always be visible in order to be registered by the officials and marshals and to be recognised as a race participant by any motorists present.
  • It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that their bike and equipment meet all safety standards
  • The cycling part is a single time trial without any personal escort. Slipstreaming behind or alongside a competitor or other non-motorised or motorised vehicles is prohibited.
  • The minimum distance between the front wheel of the front competitor and the front wheel of the rear competitor is 12 metres, and 2 metres to the side.
  • The overtaking process must be completed after 30 seconds. Overtaken athletes are responsible for re-establishing the distance and can only then start an overtaking process again.
  • Motorised race marshals will ensure that the rules are observed during cycling. In case of slipstreaming, an 30-minute penalty will be imposed, which has to be served in the transition area after completion of the bike part. Further penalties may be imposed for further offences.
  • The timekeeping chip must be worn for the entire duration of the race. Passing on the timing chip to other persons (except between team members) will result in immediate disqualification.
  • The use of electronic devices such as mobile phones or the use of headphones for music or telephone is not permitted during the cycling competition. A mobile phone may be carried for safety reasons, but its use during the race is prohibited.
  • The use of cycling computers/navigation devices is permitted, but in all cases care must be taken to ensure that no distraction is caused by their use.
  • Each participant or his/her crew is responsible for his/her own safety and equipment. The organiser accepts no liability for damage or loss or theft of equipment.  There is no permanent transition area after the completion of the bike part. The bike and the cycling equipment must be kept by the crew.
  • Time limit from the start: 70 hours.
     

3. RUNNING

  • After cycling the athlete changes from the bike to the running shoes in the designated area.
  • Any time penalties given on the bike course must be served here.
  • The bike will be taken into custody by the athletes team and will not remain in the transition area.
  • Accompaniment on the running course is permitted.
  • Participants may either run or walk, the use of any aid is prohibited.
  • The Athletes have to run/walk according to the Road Traffic Regulations (traffic lights, conjuctions, stop signs,…) 
  • The marshals will be on the road at all times.

RELAY

For relay participants the same rules apply as for single starters.

  • The changeover can take place anytime in each discipline.
  • The athlete that is on the track has to give the chip to another athlete in the transition time 


GENERAL REGULATIONS

  • Competitors may interrupted the competition at any point during the course, but it must be resumed at that point.
  • If the competition is interrupted for more than 30 minutes, the race management must be informed.
  • Breaks are possible during all disciplines.
  • In case of premature abandonment of the competition, the race management must also be informed and the chip must be returned.
  • Failure to register will result in disqualification.
  • If the race is resumed after a longer break, the race management must also be informed.
  • The team leader must be reachable by telephone for the competition management during the entire duration of the race. The telephone number must be given at the registration.
  • The participants have to make sure that they are familiar with the rules and regulations.
  • The race briefing will be a day priour the race
  • Participants are required to bring a medical certificate or a signed waiver to the registration. An official document must also be brought.
  • The organiser is not liable for accidents, damages, theft or sentence in case of breaking traffic rules
  • The organiser assumes no liability for the health risks of the participant in connection with the participation in the competition. The participant bindingly declares that there are no objections to participation in the desired competition for health reasons and that he/she is in an appropriate training condition. The participant accepts that he/she may be withdrawn from the race by the race doctor or the race director if there are signs of damage to his/her health.
  • The participant agrees that photos, film recordings and interviews made in connection with his/her participation may be passed on, distributed and published in radio, television, print media, books, photomechanical reproductions, also for the purpose of advertising without any claim to remuneration. The personal data collected with the registration will be stored and passed on for the purposes of the implementation and handling of the event. The participant agrees to the publication of his/her name, first name, year of birth, club, start number and results in all print and electronic media relevant to the event.
  • In case of non-attendance or cancellation of the event due to force majeure, there is no right to a refund of the organisation fee. The exception is early cancellation due to the Covid 19 situation. In this case, the entry fee will be refunded in full (transfer fees excluded).
  • All participants will be honoured at the winners’ brunch. There will be special prizes for the first 3 male and female finishers and for relay teams. There will be no age categories,
  • The organiser reserves the right to make changes to the rules or to the routes at short notice.
  • In case of less than 10 registrations, the organiser reserves the right to cancel the event. In this case, any fees already paid will be refunded in full.
  • All information refers to both genders.
